Poetry & plays in store for TIFC's return to HCCC!

Thinking In Full Color is returning to Hudson County Community College in Jersey City this spring!

For our spring residency, we're cooking up some special treats -- a series of workshops and performances by six of our talented IFC alumnae, and the exciting conclusion of The Nest, our new play development series.

All programming will be at the Dineen Hull Gallery, 71 Sip Ave., Jersey City, NJ, sixth floor.

Read more about each of our events below.

THE NEST

In our new play development series, The Nest, audiences get a first glimpse at theatrical works by up-and-coming women writers in development. By giving these women a safe space to receive honest and constructive feedback, we hope their works can grow and eventually take off! At the end of the series, one writer will be selected to receive free development aid from TIFC to hopefully take their vision from page to stage.

The Nest meets every other Wednesday from 6 pm to 8 pm. The remaining dates are Jan. 22, Feb. 5, Feb. 19 and March 4.

FOR GEORGIA

This powerful performance will celebrate queer Black women and honor HCCC's legendary Georgia Brooks. Enjoy works by IFC alumnae Glennifer Braker and Cindy AnaCaona Peralta, then join us for an open mic -- students, faculty and members of the community can sign up to share their own poetry, monologues or acoustic songs!

LOVE IS LOVE

This Valentine's-inspired performance will feature works by IFC alumnae Steph Dinsae and Nicole Cañete and explores matters of the heart. This event will also feature an open mic -- bring us your own tales of love at first sight, your last heartbreak or your dream partner!
