Seeking Technical Director in Jersey City

We're seeking technical staff for our next big theater show!

In Full Color is looking for a Technical Director and an Asst. Technical Director for our mainstage show on Oct. 13 and Oct. 14 at the Barrow Mansion in Downtown Jersey City, NJ.

The TD will design lighting and oversee the execution of sound/projection cues (these will be designed by others) for the show, assisted by the ATD. Setup, design and tech will all take place on Friday, Oct. 13 before an evening show. Both TD and ATD will be working with an existing light plot at the Mansion, and must restore the plot after the show. Breakdown will be done immediately after the Saturday, Oct. 14 show.

Both TD and ATD will work Friday, Oct. 13 from 2 pm to 10 pm (hour-long break TBD) and Saturday, Oct. 14 from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. They will also both attend at least one runthrough of the show, date and time TBD; and participate in production meetings which will likely be vvirtua. We can offer a $1,200 stipend for our Technical Director and $900 for our Assistant Technical Director.

Send a resume and work samples (if desired) to summer@infullcolor.org. In your email, please tell us if you have any experience in or passion for empowering BIPOC artists.

BIPOC (especially femmes, non-binary folx and trans men of color), LGBTQ+, Disabled folx and others from underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply. In Full Color's roster of 300+ artists across North America is 93% BIPOC and 25% LGBTQ+

This project is funded by the Jersey City Arts & Culture Trust Fund.

ABOUT THE SHOW

The show is anthology-style, incorporating monologues, poetry, and potentially music/dance by various women of color and other BIPOC of marginalized genders. Submissions for the show will open this summer, so the content and exact nature of our technical needs is not yet known. We typically keep things very simple -- most of the cues are washes up and down and transitional music -- with few pieces requiring internal cues. All artists are asked to present technically stripped down versions of their work. We do, however, foresee some of the stories calling for extra embellishments such as a lighting special, a projection cue or a sound effect. Previous productions (at other venues) can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdnxOLVWRNr5xoYmw_g-j6w
